Every home is a building block
When we build better homes, we build better communities. Local families partner with Habitat for Humanity to build decent and affordable homes right here in Dubuque and Jackson Counties.
What do we mean by decent and affordable?
-
Decent
Habitat houses are modestly sized. They are large enough for homeowners’ needs, but small enough to keep construction and maintenance costs affordable
-
Affordable
The labor of volunteers and partner families, efficient building methods, modest house sizes and no-profit loans make it affordable for low-income families to purchase Habitat houses.
Recent and upcoming home builds
Rosalynn Carter Place
Rosalynn Carter Place is our first Planned Unit Development (PUD) in our Dubuque and Jackson Counties service area. Fourteen moderately sized, single-family homes will be built on approximately three acres in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood.
Exciting progress continues at Rosalynn Carter Place! The first three homes in our newest neighborhood are nearly finished, and our team is now adding the final touches to get them move-in ready. Throughout this month, crews and volunteers will be installing cabinetry, lighting fixtures, and interior paint as we prepare to welcome our first three Habitat homeowners just in time for the holidays.
